Vice President: 9U–10U Girls

This position is the first point of contact for parents and coaches of girls in Recreational Soccer at the 9U–10U age group. At this age, the girls and boys teams are divided on different teams so this is like supporting four different divisions. Camps & Clinics Coordinator

The Pflugerville FC Camps & Clinics Coordinator position is there to help manage the communication and parent experience of our non-league affiliated and offseason club events. This includes events like the SkillBuilder Clinics, Summer Camps and PFC Pfutsal leagues. The busy periods for the Camps & Clinics Coordinator would come at the end of the Fall and Spring seasons and into the winter and spring offseasons as this is the peak time for these programs. This role is administrative and able to be handled remotely, mostly via communication over email and Band with parents and coaches. You would work along side our Directors and Coaches to help get the events organized, parents informed with the latest info, and there to answer questions as parents register. The perfect person for this role is someone who is responsive, able to write clear and helpful responses, and comfortable with learning new tools & technologies to get the job done. The club uses tools like Basecamp, GSuite, Band, and Squarespace. Prior knowledge of these tools are a plus, but not mandatory. You just need a willingness to learn some of these simple tools. Pflugerville FC: Video production intern

Are you interested in filming, producing, and editing videos? Do you enjoy learning more about Adobe AfterEffects, Premiere, and other video tools? Do you love soccer? Then you might be a great fit to be a Video production intern at Pflugerville FC.

We’re looking for a high school or college student with 8-12 hours per week over an 8 week season. This time will be spent doing things like:

  • Setting up / taking down camera equipment to film games on weekends

  • Uploading videos and sharing them with coaches

  • Editing together highlight clips from game footage

  • Creating promotional videos for the club

The perfect candidate for this position would be someone with some previous film and editing experience who is excited to learn more about video production by producing great work. This person would be able to meet deadlines, stay organized, stay connected with your direct reports, and go above and beyond to produce amazing videos. Previous knowledge of Adobe Premiere, After Effects, iMovie, Photoshop, or other video and graphics applications is a plus.

Also included with this position is reimbursement for a 1 year subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud to allow you access to applications like Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, etc. to produce the content.

Compensation

This position is in two 8-week semesters, one for the spring and one for the fall soccer seasons. Upon the successful completion of a semester, a $1,500 stipend will be paid. Two completed seasons would pay a total of $3,000.

Registrar

This position is in charge of all aspects of club registration and payments, including registering teams within external leagues like CAYSA and WDDOA. Additionally, you take in requests for financial assistance and take steps to grant assistance to those who are approved. You hold the keys to the safety and protection of players in the club by managing background checks and KidSafe cards for coaches, managers, and Board members. The perfect fit for this roll is someone who can function effectively in a high-stress environment, is organized and timely in their responses to questions and requests, is comfortable dealing directly with league parents and speaking on behalf of the club. Business acumen is a plus, and time available to dedicate to peak club activities during Fall and Spring registration is a must. This is a paid position.

 

Assignor of Fields & Referees

This position is in charge of coordinating with our governing bodies, partner soccer clubs, and Board EVPs to schedule games and referees. Additionally, you are in charge of recruiting and training new referees, as well as scheduling and handling complaints from referees and parents. You are also expected to be onsite most Saturdays to handle issues with game scheduling and referees on behalf of PAYSL and Pflugerville FC. The perfect person for this position is someone with previous experience on the PAYSL Board and the game of soccer, with a (fill in the blank) license. They should be organized and extremely responsive, able to manage complexity and settle disputes diplomatically while staying calm. This is a paid position.

 

Commissioner of Fields

This position is in charge of maintaining the fields and club-owned facilities and equipment to deliver an exceptional experience for game days and weekly training. You will work closely with the City of Pflugerville, the PAYSL Board, contractors, and partner clubs to solve problems at our facilities. Currently, we coordinate with the City of Pflugerville at Wells Point Park, 1849, and Bohl’s Park to maintain the fields for play. The perfect fit of this position is someone with landscaping or general handyman experience, and the ability to manage contractors on behalf of the club. This position will require considerable time at the fields.

 

Education & Training Coordinator

This position helps build, maintain, and teach a club-wide pathway of player and coach development. This includes developing age-appropriate practice plans, consistent with the guidance of our governing bodies (US Soccer, SYSTA, CAYSA, etc.), and disseminate the plan across Recreational, Academy and Select coaches. The perfect fit for this role would be someone with years of soccer experience, a Class D license from US soccer, who is excited to develop the players and coaches within our club.

 

Executive Vice President: Upper Division

This position is the face of PAYSL for Recreational Soccer for the older ages 9U–19U. You assist in recruiting, training, and supporting parents to serve on the Board as Vice Presidents for specific age groups. You answer questions, resolve problems, and help you VPs find coaches and get seasons started smoothly. The perfect fit for this position is someone who has previously served as age group VP on the Board and knows how the league currently functions and is always seeking to improve it. They are organized, responsive, and an effective communicator to make sure VPs, coaches and parents stay informed. If players, coaches, and VPs return next season, then you have done your job. Board members may receive discounted player registration as a “thank you” for their service.

 

Vice President: Division III

This position is the first point of contact for parents and coaches of boys & girls teams in Recreational Soccer at the 11U–19U levels. At these ages, the teams get larger as the game expands from 9v9 to 11v11, and teams travel a bit farther to play area teams. Your job is to recruit coaches, form teams, answer parent questions, and resolve problems. You partner with the EVP of Upper Division, Registrar, Select EVP, and other Recreational VPs to help get each season off to a great start. All Board members are also expected to serve 3–5 shifts as an Officer on Duty per season. The officer on duty assists coaches, referees, and parents with issues on game days, usually on Saturdays or Sundays. The perfect person for this position is someone who is responsive via email, able to problem solve, and an effective communicator via email. You are the voice of the league to your parents and coaches, and you care about their playing experience at PAYSL. You always strive to provide the highest quality soccer experience for your age groups. Soccer coaching or playing experience is a bonus, but not required. Pictures, Trophies, and Uniforms

This position is in charge of the logistics of organizing and distributing orders for uniforms, team and individual pictures, and end of season awards. You are responsible for coordinating with external vendors, Board VPs and EVPs, coaches, and parents to make sure everything needed is ordered and promptly fulfilled. The perfect person for this position is someone organized, responsive and an effective communicator via email, and able to stay calm under stress.

 

Marketing Coordinator

NOTE: There is a proposal pending to update the name of this position from Communications to Marketing Coordinator. Work across the entire club to develop marketing plans, then coordinate with the Social Media Coordinator, Web Coordinator, and other board members as needed to bring these plans to life. The perfect fit for this position would be an energetic personality who can quickly understand the goals of the club, understand our target audience, develop plans to motivate action, and help execute. This is someone who is organized, a decent writer for marketing emails, and is able to lead and motivate others to pitch in to get stuff done. Basic email marketing/website experience, visual design, or photography experience are a plus but not required.

 

Web Coordinator

This position keeps the paysl.org website looking great and functioning well for our users with the latest information. Additionally, this position does some light IT work managing the domain names, website permissions, and G-Suite accounts for the club. The perfect person for this would have some design experience and the ability to use a content management system to place your designs online. Some light coding experience is a plus, but you don’t need to be a web developer.

 

Executive Vice President: Lower Division

This position is the face of PAYSL for Recreational Soccer for ages 4U–8U. You assist in recruiting, training, and supporting parents to serve on the Board as Vice Presidents for specific age groups. You answer questions, resolve problems, and help you VPs find coaches and get seasons started smoothly. The perfect fit for this position is someone who has previously served as age group VP on the Board and knows how the league currently functions and is always seeking to improve it. They are organized, responsive, and an effective communicator to make sure VPs, coaches and parents stay informed. If players, coaches, and VPs return next season, then you have done your job. This position is the face of the Pflugerville FC Select program. You work with your VPs to coordinate holding tryouts, forming teams, and providing effective player training. Also, you lead the team in efforts to recruit new players, coaches, and Board members to serve the Select program. You work with the EVP of Finance, EVP of Operations, and Registrar to develop a budget and control how money is spent on the program. Your goal is to elevate the PFC program by growing the program, maintaining players and coaches, and improving the competitive performance of teams across all levels of Select. The perfect person for this would have experience in youth coaching and previous soccer experience, the ability to recruit new players, and successfully organize multiple coaches and teams. You are organized, motivated, and constantly looking for ways to improve the quality of the program in all areas. A US Soccer Class D license is required.

 

Social Media Coordinator

This position maintains our club’s presence on external platforms like Facebook, Band, and any other social channel where we can connect with our club parents and players. This perfect fit for this role is someone knowledgeable of (or willing to learn) Facebook Ad Manager and general social media best practices. They should be a self-starter who is able to coordinate with the Marketing Coordinator, Web Coordinator, and others to assist in broader campaigns. The ability to do some basic visual design, photo editing, and layout is a bonus but not required.

This position is the face of the Pflugerville FC Academy program. Work with the academy coordinator and Director to coordinate holding observations, recruiting from our Recreation program, and providing effective player training. You lead the team in efforts to recruit new players, coaches, and Board members to serve the Academy program. You work with the EVP of Finance, EVP of Operations, and Registrar to develop a budget and control how money is spent on the program. Your goal is to elevate the PFC program by growing the program, maintaining players and coaches, and improving the competitive performance of teams. The EVP must work hand in hand with our Select program to align the program goals and promote academy players into the select program once they have aged out of Academy. The perfect person for this would have experience in youth coaching and previous soccer experience, the ability to recruit new players, and successfully organize multiple coaches and teams. Communication skills are a must for this position as you handle the majority of communications to Academy parents. You must be organized, motivated, and constantly looking for ways to improve the quality of the program in all areas. A US Soccer Class D license is recommended, but not required. The league will reimburse you if you pursue getting your D license. Board members may receive discounted player registration as a “thank you” for their service.

 

Select Director

This position is the training and technical lead for the Pflugerville FC Select program. The Director must hold select meetings for updates from VP Select Boys, VP Select Girls, and the EVP of Select. The Director reports the status of the program to all of the EVP’s and President each month. The Director works with the PFC Academy Director on upcoming 10U players, and works with Academy leadership to coordinate club-aligned training so that players moving into select are prepared for the same style of play. Assist coaches in creating individual development plans, continuous coaching education, creating and sharing session plans, as well as mentoring new coaches coming into select.

Work with local clubs and STYSA to bring more coaching courses to the club and push to ensure adherence to coaching license requirements for all coaches in the program. Build and continue to improve relations with local clubs. Hold regular coaches meetings. Create and host a meeting with all incoming academy parents players during the Spring season along with the Select VP and EVP. Host a meeting with all boys/girls parents in 10U Academy in spring so they are well prepared for what is expected when moving into Select.

Create contacts and build/maintain relationships with local high schools and middle schools. Set up and host in-house scrimmages and/or invite local clubs for pre-season warmup matches. Evaluate and recruit D3 players during games for potential movement into the program. Help coordinate college showcases/recruiting.

Communication skills are a must for this position as you handle the majority of communications to Select parents. You must be organized, motivated, and constantly looking for ways to improve the quality of the program in all areas. A US Soccer Class D license is required at minimum. This is a paid contract position.


 

Volunteer Coordinator

This position works with PAYSL families to help out around the club, especially those who request financial assistance. They review financial hardship requests, assist in managing the scholarship budget, and coordinate with those parents who receive assistance to volunteer at the club. The perfect fit for this position would be someone who is a great listener, responsive and effective communicating via email or text, and is highly organized to make sure things get done.
