Executive Vice President: Academy

This position is the face of the Pflugerville FC Academy program. Work with the academy coordinator and Director to coordinate holding observations, recruiting from our Recreation program, and providing effective player training. You lead the team in efforts to recruit new players, coaches, and Board members to serve the Academy program. You work with the EVP of Finance, EVP of Operations, and Registrar to develop a budget and control how money is spent on the program. Your goal is to elevate the PFC program by growing the program, maintaining players and coaches, and improving the competitive performance of teams. The EVP must work hand in hand with our Select program to align the program goals and promote academy players into the select program once they have aged out of Academy. The perfect person for this would have experience in youth coaching and previous soccer experience, the ability to recruit new players, and successfully organize multiple coaches and teams. Communication skills are a must for this position as you handle the majority of communications to Academy parents. You must be organized, motivated, and constantly looking for ways to improve the quality of the program in all areas. A US Soccer Class D license is recommended, but not required. The league will reimburse you if you pursue getting your D license. Board members may receive discounted player registration as a “thank you” for their service.

 

Academy Director

This position is the training and technical lead for the Pflugerville FC Academy program. You are in charge of Academy coaches, providing them training sessions and practice content per the curriculum. Running 2 training sessions per week for at least 1 hour 15 min each with the team coach assisting. Run pool training sessions for all of the combined Academy players every 2 weeks, or at least once a month. Each season, you organize and facilitate Academy Observations to place players and answer parent questions. Additionally, you will plan and execute Academy camps for players to attend twice each year. Success for this position looks like a growing number of players in the program, players staying in the program and ultimately graduating up to Select, parents who love and support the program, and coaches who develop into Select level coaches. The perfect fit for this position is someone who loves the game and has a passion for training younger players and coaches. This person has a vast knowledge of the game, a Class D license or better from US Soccer, and is an effective communicator. This is a paid contract position.

 

Vice President: Academy

NOTE: The name of this position is pending a proposal to change from the Academy Coordinator to the Vice President: Academy. The Academy VP is responsible for assisting the EVP and Director. Tasks include recruiting, forming teams, organizing the teams in GotSoccer. The VP will handle uniforms ordering and getting uniforms to the individuals. One of the main responsibilities of the Academy VP is to communicate with CAYSA other leagues to build the team schedules in the agreed upon fashion, home or away.  This includes arranging friendlies when games are needed.  Assist the director in planning, scheduling, and running pool training and observations.  Communication is a must for this position as you assist the parents after observations in getting the players registered, uniforms ordered, and coaches/parents notified of incoming players.  A US Soccer Class D license is recommended, but not required.
